Preparing a business for sale

A clear listing states the business model, location, what a buyer would receive, and what stays with the seller. Buyers also expect a reason for sale and a plain description of how the business makes money.

Financial figures should be tied to a period, such as a financial year, and labelled as seller supplied until they have been through a verification process. Do not estimate numbers you cannot support.

Separate operating performance from asset value. Equipment, inventory, domains and stock can be included in the package or listed on their own.
